Our data centers keep all of Google’s products and services up and running around the clock and around the world. Whenever you access Gmail, edit your documents, or search for information on Google, you're using one of our data centers and have the power of a supercomputer at your fingertips. In our third decade of climate action, we’re targeting our most ambitious sustainability goal to date: to run on 24/7 carbon-free energy by 2030 – everywhere and all the time. We’re on the path to making it happen: five of our data centers around the globe are now operating near or above 90% carbon-free energy and in 2021, we achieved 66% around-the-clock carbon-free energy across all Google data centers, up from 61% in 2019. We also fulfilled our fifth consecutive year of 100% renewable energy matching on an annual basis. By focusing on 24/7 carbon-free power, we are accelerating the transition to a clean energy future for all.
