Belkin's Nostromo n52 Speedpad, after four years of dutiful service, is to be upgraded.

The new n52te, to hit stores in November, will have sexy backlit keys, tactile feedback, 15 programmable functions, a removable joystick and a software package from Razer designed to help maintain multiple player profiles.

Seattle folk can see it at World Cyber Games, running from today until October 7, at Razer Booth #5 in the West Hall. I owned the original n52, and liked it: it's the nearest thing to a working keyboard alternative that isn't obviously just a mini-keyboard. The biggest problem, for me, was the annoying software — which looks to be the focus of new development here.

The n52te F8GFPC200 speedpad will be $70.
