Sorta okay, but you gotta pay to play the videos.

The system is just “ok” there’s good and there’s bad about it. They definitely don’t catch everything, I’ve adjusted the sensitivity many times, I’ve had people come to the door and it not register, then later a squirrel would run by and it would register that… strange.

The visual angle of the cameras is very limited, it looks like you have to of course purchase an extra arm for each to have full mobility, I really hate that. It should move to the desired angle without having to spend more.

It would make sense if they were color when it’s dark out, just black and white could make it hard to identify anyone.

The module base goes offline sometimes, which defeats the entire purpose, because if you’re away you actually have to manually reset the system… you should be able to do this remotely.

The batteries seem to be lasting which is nice, it’s pretty easy to set up as well. They’re a great size too.

But I’d say my biggest complaint is now all of a sudden I have to pay to have them record the videos.

Everything recorded and I could play it back instantly for a little over a year, now they make you pay to have that luxury…seriously ?!

They should allow a certain amount of free time all the time. Like maybe 72 hours of stored recordings etc… you can use an SD card in the module and then plug into a computer to watch the videos, but this doesn’t work as good as it should. I’m really disappointed that now we have to pay for a subscription. So sad. But that’s an Amazon product for you, always trying to get a little more out of you… I should’ve known better.
Beware the Subscription fees

Buyers beware that the functionality of this Blink product and the Blink app have recently been downgraded by Blink and their parent company unless you pay for the subscription.

We have two Blink outdoor cameras that have worked with all features for over a year until recently. We also have the doorbell. All use the same app and had the same features. We initially chose Blink over its competitor because no subscription was necessary, all you needed was the Sync Module 2 (no USB needed) to be able to record, store approx 30 days worth of clips in the cloud, view thumbnails, and periodic photo capture. Now without subscription all you can do is Live View.

This is pretty useless and not what we bought the products for, and not as they were advertised to us at the time of sale. We are really unhappy with this recent change, disguised as the "end of a 30 day free trial". That's funny because I've been using the devices and app as described above for over a year with no issue.

Now all of a sudden Blink want £80 a year subscription fee in order to restore the original functionality. This feels like a push against Consumer Rights... They have deliberately disabled several features originally included as standard in order to squeeze more money from the unsuspecting consumer. Save your money and go with the other video doorbell competitor, maybe you won't feel cheated like we do.
10 Stars!

Five Stars - This is the first review I have ever written. If I could give this product TEN STARS, I would. Before I bought the Blink Outdoor Two Camera System I did a lot of research. Nearly all of the other systems on the market had one or more of three deal breakers. 1) they were corded and needed either an outlet (outdoors) or to be hardwired. 2) If battery operated they had a very, very short battery life sometimes less than a week. And 3, they did not have internal storage and required a subscription, usually $5.00 or more a month for external or cloud storage. Blink cameras are battery operated with a battery life expectancy of up to two years, but the best feature is you can plug in a cheap thumb drive into the system and have unlimited local storage. All the settings can be operated remotely, including motion detection sensitivity and recording time. Settings can be set individually for each camera as desired. You can view, save or delete, all the clips anytime, anywhere. If you dont need to store videos, you just delete them from the thumb drive. It took less than ten minutes to install the app on or devices, and another five minutes to install each camera. We liked the system so much, we bought as third camera for our patio door.
A great set up, with some caveats.

For an off the shelf system, it’s very plug and play if you’re technically capable. It, naturally, is most functional when appropriately networked with the Blink subscription service and it’s fantastic that the application really does handle all that heavy lifting.

As for the cameras, they are fantastic. The microphones are excellent but the audio quality can be significantly muddled when the software tries to focus in on sounds. Voices can still be made out, words understood with some effort.

The night-vision is Fantastic. The motion detection is exemplary. The battery life is quite remarkable, but it really should be able to take 4 double A’s as opposed to the 2 it’s designed for as that would radically improve product longevity and performance.

I recommend picking up a large capacity USB drive to localize the storage for added piece of mind. Also, I didn’t use the included batteries: just go get a pack of Energizers.
