Performing arts may include dance, music, opera, theatre and musical theatre, magic, illusion, mime, spoken word, puppetry, circus arts, stand-up comedy, improv, professional wrestling and performance art. There is also a specialized form of fine art, in which the artists perform their work live to an audience.

The School of Performing Arts (SoPA), HSNC University was formed to train students to exceed in their artistic endeavours, to hone their talent, to maximise their skills, to modernize their artistic perspectives, to conserve and propagate Indian Tradition and Heritage and to be a complete performing artist.

In addition to folk dances, the main traditional forms that developed in Korea are ritual court dances, masked dances, and puppet plays. Of these, masked dances and masked-dance plays have perhaps the oldest and richest traditions.
