Performing arts may include dance, music, opera, theatre and musical theatre, magic, illusion, mime, spoken word, puppetry, circus arts, stand-up comedy, improv, professional wrestling and performance art. There is also a specialized form of fine art, in which the artists perform their work live to an audience.

The Western Music program at SoPA provides a balanced education between theory and practical methods to make the student a well-rounded musician. Our campus houses state of the art musical instruments which the students have full access to for practice, performances and recordings.

In addition to folk dances, the main traditional forms that developed in Korea are ritual court dances, masked dances, and puppet plays. Of these, masked dances and masked-dance plays have perhaps the oldest and richest traditions.
