We respect that healing comes in many forms and recognize the importance of a holistic approach. CVTC provides a wide range of therapeutic services free of charge to anyone impacted by violence. We are dedicated to advocacy on behalf of survivors, collaboration with partners across a multitude of disciplines, and training for those who work with survivors. We are committed to changing cultural norms around violence and promoting social justice through progressive legislation and community mobilization.

Challenge

The Crime Victims Treatment Center needs to manage and connect with a large network of volunteers to drive their mission forward. They also need a solution for storing their patients’ contact information and email communications securely. Finally, their team needs a reliable system for grant writers to collaborate seamlessly on new proposals.

Story

CVTC uses Google tools for the treatment of survivors of family and intimate partner violence, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, and other forms of violence and crime. The organization employs a paperless volunteer management system through Google Forms, collaborates on grant proposals with Google Docs, and stores all email in their customized HIPAA compliant instance of Google Workspace. CVTC also uses Meet and YouTube to promote their work and their mission to a wide audience.

“Investing in technology is not an option we ever had. Google for Nonprofits has allowed us to have that investment without worrying about the cost and without worrying about spending money that we don't have on things that we so desperately need.”

Christopher Bromson, Assistant Director

Impact

With Google for Nonprofits, the Crime Victims Treatment Center keeps sensitive information safe and organized, while also simplifying the volunteer signup process. Through YouTube promotion, CVTC raised over $40,000 in the 2014 broadcast of their Broadway Unlocked benefit event. Altogether, these different services make it a little easier for the CVTC to continue making a difference.
