AWC unit bags RM32m JKR contract

KUALA LUMPUR: AWC Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary, Ambang Wira Sdn Bhd (AWSB), has bagged a RM32.86 million contract from Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR) for the maintenance of Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKLW) buildings in Putrajaya.

In a statement today, AWC said the tenure of the contract is for five years from Aug 16, 2017 until Aug 15, 2022 and covers all the blocks utilised and occupied by KKLW in Putrajaya.

“This award further enhances the facilities division and the group’s overall existing order book and is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings,” it said.

AWC said the group’s facilities division has a concession from the federal government of Malaysia for the maintenance of federal government buildings and facilities located in the southern states of Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak.

It said in addition, the division also provides building facilities maintenance works for the commercial and healthcare segments.

AWC’s managing director and group chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Kabeer said the contract is a testament to the group’s ability in ensuring its client’s needs satisfactorily.
