Despite only being on the market for two and a half days, Tekashi 6ix9ine's new album DUMMY BOY is fighting for the top spot on the Billboard charts and, to be honest, nobody is too surprised. The rollout to this project has been among some of the most unique we've seen in the past five years. Interest was apparent for 6ix9ine before he was nabbed on racketeering charges but now that he's facing life in prison, everybody was curious to hear what may be his final body of work. There is seemingly only one thing standing in his way. A strong force since earlier in the year, Travis Scott's Astroworld is apparently neck-and-neck with the colorful-haired artist as 6ix9ine seeks to make history from prison.

Its release was far from traditional as DUMMY BOY leaked last weekend, finally being officially released on streaming platforms on Tuesday. With features including Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Gunna, Lil Baby, Tory Lanez, and others, people were excited to tune in. We were expecting it to do well but in the few days since it was made available, Tekashi has already moved approximately 60-65K equivalent album units. According to Hits Daily Double, he stands right next to Travis Scott, who is experiencing a bit of a push thanks to the start of his tour.

It remains to be seen whether 6ix9ine will pull it out for the top album of the week. Even if he does, he'll need to celebrate behind bars since his trial is only set to begin in September 2019.
