Vladimir Putin has signed off a new division of monstrous nuclear capable bombers to patrol the region.

Relations between the two superpowers are poor with the Kremlin warning Russians to "prepare for war".

Long-range bombers dubbed "Blackjacks" and "Bears" will undertake regular patrols which were common during the Cold War.

And at the Russian border with Europe at Finland, planes are already penetrating foreign airspace.

A new Iron Curtain is falling between the US and Russia as the two nations cut off communication over brewing tensions in Syria.

With the US, China, North Korea and Russia all wielding immense military power in the Pacific the region has been dubbed the Apocalypse Cauldron which could be ground zero for World War 3.
