"Incredibles 2" Trailer Proves Edna Mode is a True Icon

"It means fire, Robert."

Incredibles 2 is finally coming and it's time to butckle up because things are about to get, well, incredible.

Earlier this year, we got a sneak peek of the upcoming Pixar movie, bringing Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and the rest of the family back to the big screen. The story being touted is an exciting one, with lots of role reversals, the thrill of potentially seeing even more supers come out of the woodwork, and what appears to be a hypnotizing new villain.

Elastigirl fans will be pleased to know that she is getting a major storyline in The Incredibles 2 (even though she was a total badass in the first Incredibles movie). In the sequel, it looks like Elastigirl has been recruited to become part of a campaign to bring supers out of the shadows and prove to the public that they are, in fact, good for society. What's even more exciting about this focus on Elastigirl, as evidenced in the trailer, is that we'll get to see a little reversal of gender roles, with Elastigirl heading out to work while Mr. Incredible has to hold down the homestead. Between helping out with homework, cooking, and cleaning, Mr. Incredible also has to find a way to manage baby Jack Jack's emerging superhero powers, work through Violet's teen angsty, and handle Dash's shenanigans; the titular hero has got his work cut out for him, all while Elastigirl is out there saving the day. This will definitely be fun to watch.

Better still, The Incredibles 2 trailer also teases some fun new characters, including Winston Deavor (voiced by Better Call Saul's Bob Odenkirk) as the fella in charge of getting Elastigirl back out in the field, and the return of old faves such as Frozone, who is still bickering with his wife about going out to save the day when they already have plans at home. The most mysterious part of the trailer comes at the end when we see who appears to be the true villain of Incredibles 2 teased. Making an appearance on television screens everywhere and sounding very ominous, The Screen Slaver seems to have cracked mass-hypnotization for some very dastardly plot. Oh, and of course, Edna Mode is back and better than ever, schooling Mr. Incredible like usual.

Fans are already posting their thoughts on Twitter, with a universal feeling of excitement and anticipation seeming to sweep through the fandom. The movie comes out June 15 and check out the official trailer for Incredibles 2 below:
