Just as clichés exist because they express universal truths, so products that have been around for ages exist because they work. It follows that these Methuselah products, with their solid track records, have a better chance of being excellent than some random, gimmicky newbie that has popped up out of nowhere. This is true of many of my favourite things, among them Mason Pearson hairbrushes, DR Harris shaving cream, Dr Bronner soaps, Revlon Cherries in the Snow lipstick, Guerlain Jicky scent and, well, I was going to say Badedas, but it’s done something sacrilegious to the smell and now I can hardly bear even to type its silly name.
