Important Days In A Week To Worship Lord Ganesha
Wednesday is one day in the week when many devotees visit temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha to seek his blessings. It is believed that when people pray to him every week on this day, he will bless them with happiness and prosperity. Many devotees also believe that he would remove all obstacles from their life.
Apart from Wednesday, many people also fast and worship Lord Ganesha on Tuesday and Friday. Tuesday is when unmarried girls in Tamil Nadu and other parts of South India observe fast. It is believed that God will bless them with a good husband and a happy married life.
In many parts of India, devotees worship Lord Ganesha before sunrise on Fridays. They believe that if they impress God, he will give them boons, remove obstacles from their life, and bless them with special financial and other benefits.
Important Days In A Month Dedicated To Lord Ganesha
Sankatahara Chaturthi
The fourth day after the full moon is considered auspicious to worship Lord Ganesha. It is called Sankatahara Chaturthi. According to the Hindu calendar, it is called Chaturthi. Many devotees observe fast and break it after the moon rises. Temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha are often decorated and venerations are performed.
Many people believe that God descended on the Earth and blessed devotees with his presence. According to many mythological stories, it is believed to be the day when Lord Shiva declared that his son would be superior to all Gods, except Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, Goddess Lakshmi, and Goddess Parvati.
Vinayaki Chaturthi
Vinayaki Chaturthi is another day in a month followed by the Hindu calendar. This day follows the new moon, and the tithi has to be Chaturthi. They offer him his favourite things and seek his blessings for a loving, prosperous, and successful life.
Vinayak Chaturthi
This day is also observed as Ganesha Chaturthi, and devotees celebrate it as the birth of Lord Ganesha. The celebration of this day starts 11 days before Ganesh Chaturthi. People bring idols of Lord Ganesha to their homes, treat him as their guest, worship him every day, and immerse him in water on the last day while extending an invitation to come to the home and bless them next year. It is usually celebrated in August or September.

Ganesh Jayanti
When Chaturthi falls on Magh Shukla Paksha, usually between January and February, people celebrate it as Ganesh Jayanti in Maharashtra. Many devotees refer to it as the winter birthday of Lord Ganesha.
