The golfing world woke up to the news of Michelle Wie West retiring from the sport after astounding success. She became one of the youngest players on the circuit, making her debut at age 10. Notably, she became the youngest player to qualify for a USGA amateur championship. Therefore, fans are surprised to see her retire from the sport at just 33. However, after two decades of dominating the game, she retired. Tributes poured in as USWNT soccer superstar Alex Morgan was one of the celebrated athletes to wish her the best. 

The United States Golf Association gave her a video tribute lauding her achievements. Thus, fans loved Morgan’s heartfelt appreciation for the star golfer.

In the reel, many golfers appear in the video to wish her luck. Likewise, they collected her old clips and stitched in various parts of her achievements in the video. Replying to this, Morgan stated in her story“Goodluck Michelle Wie West. Leaving a legacy.” It was beautiful to see the legacy she leaves behind as the golfing fraternity celebrates her sensational career. After arriving on the scene at age 10, she became the youngest qualifier for the LPGA tour at age 12. 

Retiring from the game, she spoke to ESPN about her career choice. Wie stated, “I really, really wanted to play longer. I really wanted to — especially after having Makenna and her being a girl, I really wanted to play longer. In an ideal world, I wish I was still out on tour and playing. Unfortunately, it’s just I had to make a hard decision with my body. It is hard. It is hard to be a mom out here. You have to make a lot of sacrifices. I just had to make a hard medical decision and also a personal decision.”
