F1 Supremo Bernie Ecclestone, Who Welcomed a Son Aged 89, Never Really Wanted a Male Heir

The former F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has been in the public eye for as long as one can remember. The Billionaire often makes the headlines as well and not necessarily for the right reasons. However, even though he is 91 years of age, new information keeps popping up surrounding the Briton.
Ecclestone’s daughter, Tamara Ecclestone, is responsible for this fresh information about his life. Interestingly, Bernie Ecclestone’s second daughter revealed underneath the tough exterior, he has a soft spot for all his daughters.

Although, she believes if her father had a son before the daughters, he’d be tougher. She revealed further on the topic of a son while talking on the In the Pink podcast.
Tamara Ecclestone said, “I always ask him if he wanted a son and he said ‘No’. He said that it would’ve been difficult and there would’ve been expectations and it would’ve been a whole new relationship. So I think he’s really happy he didn’t have one.”
Now, keep in mind this is a podcast from 2018 and a lot has changed since then.

In 2020, Ecclestone announced he will become a father for the fourth time in his life with his wife Fabiana Flosi. In July of the same year, the couple welcomed a baby boy, later named Ace.
Ace’s birth contradicted Ecclestone’s stand on having a son. Despite that, the 91-year-old father is enjoying his son’s company in Ibiza. He revealed to DailyMail that, “Ace likes feeding them by hand,” ‘them’ being the fish swimming in the horseshoe-shaped pond in his villa.
Ecclestone might be a doting dad now, but it did not start off like that.

The 91-year-old might’ve never wanted a son, but you can’t control every aspect of life. The now doting father, however, must’ve not been the most excited during the birth.

When asked during an interview if he was present during the delivery, he said, “No, I wasn’t there, no! I’m not a doctor.” When the host said, “A lot of men quite like to be there for the moment and sort of see it happen.”
