I have been smoking these for the past 4 years. I had absolutely no idea that these are considered as clove cigarettes. Over 20 years ago, I used to smoke clove cigarettes by Djarum and Sampoerna, so I know what cloves are like. These Dunhills are more like regular cigarettes. They are very smooth and I always thought it was simply fine cut tobacco by itself. I guess you’re never too old to learn stuff. I’m glad to know that my favorite smoke is a clove.

This is one of those kreteks that has the right amount of sweet. I didn’t choke on random lumps of clove so a very well blended and smooth experience. Pack of 20 and about the size of a standard pack of smokes. Which made me enthusiastic since, I hate the very large irregular box shape of Djarum Supers. I recommend this for light smokers since it’s not the tongue numbing high tar experience you get from higher end cloves like Djarum and Dji Sam Soe.

Really good, but for some reason I liked the Dunhill blacks better. The black box is also a white kretek when you open it. So they look the same. I just feel like the black box was smoother then the white box for some reason.

The good: packaging is first rate, resealable box keeps cigs fresh, decent clean tasting clove flavor, without the typical popping of burning cloves that you need to be wary of dropping on your clothing. Twenty in a box (instead of 16) which makes them a comparably good value per cost of each cig.
The bad: There are better tasting for a similar price point on the market. Mind you these taste pretty good with decent smoothness, but as far as flavor, body, kick or length of burn, these do not stand out.

As far as packaging goes, this is by far the coolest pack I have ever purchased. The top can reseal “air-tight” keeping these cigarettes fresh.
As far as flavor goes, it was definitely a unique smoke. Sweet, but I’ve had better. This cigarette was a bit too “weak” for me in terms of the body, which was very “airy” in my opinion.

Would I recommend these to someone? Probably yes.
