Native to Central and South America, the Malabar Chestnut Tree is a medium to large sized tree up to 70 ft. tall, depending on soil type and soil depth, with greenish tree trunk and branches. Hardy nut tree tolerating to 28F in subtropical climates and periods of drought, although it prefers year round warmer climate and adequate water. A good species for bonsai and growing in large pots.
