Celebrity hairstylist Oscar Blandi on the products he swears by

Ever wonder what your favorite celebrities buy when they’re browsing their favorite boutique or shopping online late at night? Welcome to Six Picks, where we ask stars to spill their style and beauty must-haves — so you can shop like you’re famous, too.

With a client list that includes the likes of Jennifer Garner, Jessica Biel, Naomi Watts and Tom Cruise, celebrity hairstylist Oscar Blandi is a certified master of the mane. His salon at 545 Madison Ave. is a favorite of socialites and media figures alike; later this month, he’ll open his second NYC space at 111 Murray St. to better serve the downtown crowd.

Below, Blandi shares a few of the hair and grooming must-haves he uses on both himself and his star clientele, plus a wild card pick or two (who knew he was seriously into motorcycles?).

  1. 1. Kiehl's Crème With Silk Groom

“I love this product because it truly works. I use it rigorously every day after I wash my hair; it turns it from a frizzy mess into a slicked-back, clean look in a minute, and is perfect for any last-minute restyling. As a motorcyclist, I put a dab on before I wear my helmet and it helps seal everything underneath together.”

    $24

  2. 2. Mithos Racing Suit

“My side obsession is motorcycle racing, and I can’t do it without my favorite leather Mithos suit that just molds to my body. This suit has it all; it’s got the versatility and movability of a softer leather suit, yet is very resistant to any falls and crashes on the track, offering flexibility yet protection. Most people don’t realize that I race motorcycles competitively, but it helps clear my mind from the daily demands of my salon business and allows me to focus on just myself and the speed I can get on my motorcycle. These suits make me feel empowered when I get on the track.”

  3. 3. Under Armour Valsetz Boots

“I absolutely love Under Armour’s winter boots. They provide excellent function and utility while walking around all day, yet they don’t sacrifice practicality for fashion. I find that they add a sense of style to any outfit I’m wearing, whether it be jeans or long slacks. They look like winter boots, but feel like sneakers.”

    $125

  4. 4. Emporio Armani Cotton Twill Shirt

    armani-shirt

“I am a huge fan of the button-down shirts from Armani. They’re a wardrobe classic for me. I wear shirts like this when at the salon or out to dinner in the city with friends and family. I love the way the shirt fits and moves.”

    $375

  5. 5. Baxter of California Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream

“I have been using this amazing cream for over a year now. Since I am so invested in different hair products, I rarely have time to dive into skin care — but this product I tried and truly love. I’m a creature of habit with it, and I use it every morning and night after I rinse my face. It keeps my eyes so refreshed and adds deep moisture.”

    $28

  6. 6. Solis 16mm Curling Iron

    solis-iron

“I am a huge fan of Solis’ medium-sized curling iron — it can seriously do anything. The heating power is consistent, and it never fluctuates between hot and cold. It also never needs to recoil or refresh. Additionally, I’ve never had issues with it breaking down, and it’s professional yet affordable.”
