Braised Fermented Beancurd with Pork Ribs and Lotus Root

Stewed Fermented Beancurd (Nam Yue) with Pork Ribs and Lotus Root. Another easy recipe, instead of cooking lotus root with pork ribs soup, you can cook it this way.

Ingredients : (serves 3)

420g Pork Ribs

110g Lotus Root (sliced)

1 1/2 blocks Fermented Beancurd (Nam Yue)

2 cloves Garlic (whole with skin)

1 tsp Oyster sauce

1 tsp Sugar

Few drops of Dark Soy Sauce

200ml Water

3 tsp Cooking Oil

Spring onions for garnishing

Step by Step :

1. Heat up oil in wok.

2. Saute garlic for a minute. Put in pork ribs & lightly pan fry for about 4 mins till all sides turned slightly brown.

3. Add in water, lotus root, fermented beancurd, oyster sauce, sugar & dark soy sauce.

4. Bring to a boil, and then reduce to medium low heat and let it simmer for 35mins or until meat becomes tender. Stirring occasionally.

5. Dish up and garnish with some spring onions. Serve with steam rice.
