Pulau Rawa 3 Days 2 Nights Trip

We had an amazing trip to Pulau Rawa, the so-called Maldives in Johor. We decided to treat ourselves a good trip after a long exhausted working life. Finally a small getaway from the hustle and bustle life in the city.

And of course, it's our 2nd anniversary and why not!

The Cheapest Option we have for Couple?

Stay in Jungle Side room for 3 days 2 nights during weekdays

It costs around RM700 per person during weekdays (inclusive of 6% GST and 10% Services Charge).

Inclusive of
  1. Transportation (ferry from island to Mersing jetty, 2 ways)
  2. Equipment rental fees of all recreation activities (snorkeling, kayak slide, volleyball)
  3. Buffet meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
  4. Accommodation.
Lunch is not included on the first day so make sure to settle your lunch before departing to the island.
Do check out their website for more information : http://www.alangsrawa.com/node/19.

Once you reach Mersing jetty:
You will have to wait for the Alang’s Rawa boat to pick you up between 12pm-2pm. Make sure you arrive within this time frame so you can get on the boat.

At the jetty, there is a hawker center and some small shops to grab some local malay food there or last minute shopping for the trip. When you reach the jetty, head to the Alang's Rawa office.

Alang's Rawa Office is beside of the public parking area. You can wait in the office until the boat is ready. They will then lead you to the speedboat.

The journey from Mersing Jetty to Rawa Island takes only around 20-30 minutes.

Where you can stay:

There are only 2 resorts on the entire island. The first resort, which we were staying, is called Alang’s Rawa. The second resort is called Rawa Island resort which is more luxurious.

Compared with these two options, if you are concerned about the budget then we will definitely recommend Alang's Rawa.

Food and drinks:

Alang’s Rawa serves simple yet delicious food. During our stay, we have buffet style of meals throughout the day. We had pasta, fried mee, rice with curry, fish, chicken, keropok and more.

The best part is that they offered us fruits in every meal.
Drinks are charged in the Alang Rawa which means any drinks including water are charged on the last day before leaving.

Please reminded that there is no aircon, wifi, tv and even the tap water was salty. Do remember to bring your own water so that you can save money from buying mineral water and clean up your body with fresh water.

WIFI can be connected around the counter. We brought 7*1.5L of drinking water + tap water, just nice for two people.

What we can do at  Alang’s Rawa:

  • Sunbathe
  • Snorkel around
  • Kayaking
  • Play beach volleyball.
  • Play board games and do some reading which you can borrow from them
  • Drink.
  • Swim.
  • Play the water slides

Day 1:

We departed from my hometown, Kluang. The cheapest parking fees we could find there for 3 days 2 nights is RM30.

*Tips:
We thought the boat transfer service would be always ready for us from 12-2pm. However, you have to contact them in advance as they arrange their departure time based on the arrivals of passengers.

We arrived at 2.45pm approximately. One of the staff, Botak (means bald in Malay), asked if we had brought alcohols with us as my luggage is super heavy (10kg+ I guess, it is a small luggage though).

Sheena, Botak and other staffs are pretty nice. Right after we settle down, Sheena explained and shared with us a lot of her experiences and information.

We only went Jungle Trekking, enjoyed the view of Sunset in the hilltop. It takes you less than 15 mins for the jungle trekking, sunset will be around 6.30pm to 7pm.

Therefore, it is advisable to start trekking about 6pm, then spend some time to chit chat and take photos.

Oh ya, and we met a dog named Daisy, their in-house dog. She is such a cutie pie and she never fails to entertain you during your stay. She is like the ambassador of the island.

At night, we spend some time to explore the island by walking down to the jetty and took some gorgeous picture. We also lay on the beach, looking up the sky and spend some precious moments together.

Day 2:

We wanted to see the sunrise, but we failed to get up early. We tried sunbathing, swimming, kayaking, snorkeling and also play on the water slide!

Please take note that there are only 3 kayaks, and few life vests, so everything is on a first come first served basis.

Actually the slide does not belong to Alang's Rawa, so only the Alang Resort's customers are eligible to use it, but we manage to sneak in and play.

Day 3:

We met a German who named Nadine, she is pretty friendly and nice. She looks like the Galadriel (one of the female elves) in The Lord of The Ring, so Jia Cheng decided to talk to her.

We had a nice talk in the morning while having breakfast. This is a good time to hang around and meet new friends.

Advices:
To all the boyfriends out there, please boost up your photo shooting skills before your vacation. :P

Thanks Pulau Rawa for making our 2nd anniversary so much special!

Alang's Rawa is truly a place to recommend as you can experience a wonderful island vacation.

Cheers to many more years in the future. Love ya. <3
