Mechanical Engineer, Data Center R&D - Mountain View

The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We're diverse, upbeat, creative, team-oriented engineers and managers working on a daily basis to develop data centers that are changing the face of contemporary computing facilities.

The role: Mechanical Engineer, Data Center R&D

Our Data Center organization is responsible for the design and operation of industry-leading, geographically-diverse, large scale critical facilities. Mechanical Engineers are highly motivated Mechanical Engineers with demonstrated design and analytical expertise in the areas of complex, mission critical facilities. You should be knowledgeable of the design, construction, commissioning, and operational phases of the data center's lifecycle, with specific expertise in more than one of these areas. You are also knowledgeable of IT equipment and the interplay between the gear and the data center.

Mechanical Engineers possess authoritative knowledge of large-scale mechanical infrastructure systems for mission-critical facilities. Knowledge of architectural concerns, large-scale compute farms, networking, and large industrial/commercial cooling distribution systems is a major plus. You should have extensive experience being involved in large scale technical operations, and demonstrable problem-solving leadership with limited oversight. You possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to create work product with highly accurate results.
