Info for Schools

How to participate

1. Register your class on the Registration page.
2. Download sample doodles from our Lesson Resources page to show students and get top tips on doodling from Dennis Hwang – Google’s original doodler.
3. Read our full terms and conditions.
4. Mail all doodle submissions to us by 26 February 2010.

Age Groups

The competition is open to all students between the ages of 4-19 attending a school in Singapore. Doodles will be judged in five age groups:

• Ages 4 - 6
• Ages 7 - 9
• Ages 10 - 12
• Ages 13 - 16
• Ages 17 - 19

Supporting statement

In addition to producing a doodle, students also need to complete a supporting statement (a template is included in the school pack) which contains:

• A title for their doodle
• A write-up of no more than 100 words on why their doodle expresses the theme 'Our Singapore'

Submitting entries

• There is a limit of 1 entry per student but no limit on the number of entries per school. Please encourage as many students to participate as possible!
• After you have registered, we will email you a unique submission code that students should write on the back of their doodles and on their supporting statements.
• Please mail all doodles along with their supporting statements by 26 February 2010 to the address below:

Design guidelines

• The doodle should be presented on a white, landscape sheet of A4 paper.
• Download the Google logo templates to use as a guide.
• As the winning doodle will be displayed on the Google Singapore homepage, please ensure the Google logo is clearly visible and recognisable.
• The doodle can be in pencil, crayons, felt tip, paint, or can be done using computer drawing or design software. Unfortunately we cannot accept entries using additional materials to create 3D effects.
