Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day

We’re spreading the love. The love of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), to be specific. Googlers are living proof of the value of elementary STEM education. That’s why we’re so enthusiastic about supporting it for all students, particularly those who are traditionally underrepresented. The future leaders of computer science are waiting to be discovered—and inspired.

In addition to formal programs like National Engineers Week and Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, Google offices host thousands of students every year for tours, computer science workshops and mentoring. Through international events (such as Girls’ Day in London and Munich and the Google India Women in Engineering Awards), professional partnerships in Australia and multiple activities across the U.S., we’re reaching out to support STEM education all over the world.

Google provides financial and people resources to organizations, events, and schools to help attract students to these fields, and show them first-hand how a STEM education can lead to the creation of great products and tools that they know and love to use.

Featured Program: LEAD Program in Engineering

This year, Google was a leading sponsor for the inaugural LEAD Program in Engineering. Google took a major part in designing and delivering curriculum components of this program, with the intention of increasing the number and quality of students interested in careers in engineering and technical fields.

Partner Organizations

In order to reach a broad subset of students internationally, we partner with a number of organizations reaching young people.

Photo Gallery of Youth Events: Take a look at some of the youth events we have hosted and sponsored!

Google for Educators: At Google, we support teachers in their efforts to empower students and expand the frontiers of human knowledge. That’s why we’ve assembled the information and tools you will find on the Google for Educators site.

Google RISE Awards: This program which allows non-profits to submit requests for assistance in their Computer Science related programs. Google RISE (Roots in Science and Engineering) Awards, is designed to fund, promote and support science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and computer science education. Learn more about it here.
